Three of four men arrested in connection to shots fired March 7

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Multiple shots fired incidents on March 7 led to the arrests of three men.

The first of these incidents was near Michigan Street and Adams Road, where bullets struck a parked van.

Soon after, the second shots fired report came in near the 51000 block of State Road 933, with officers observing four men fleeing into a nearby wooded area.

Saint Joseph County Police were able to apprehend three of the suspects, 23-year-old Michael Winston, 24-year-old Angelo Perez, and 20-year-old Fabian Yanez.

During their investigation police recovered the following items:

  • Drug paraphernalia
  • Marijuana 
  • Numerous rounds of ammunition in multiple calibers
  • A pistol-grip shotgun
  • An AK-47, believed to be used in the initial shooting
  • A handgun reported stolen from South Bend
  • A second handgun recovered in the woods

All three are currently behind bars at the Saint Joseph County Jail.
