UPDATE: The La Porte County Sheriff's Office reports the passenger of the Kia, 88-year-old Elvin Nuest, has died from injuries sustained in the S.R. 2 crash on Sept. 25.

The crash investigation is ongoing.

ORIGINAL STORY: LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- One person is dead following a crash in La Porte County.

Officials say deputies responded to a crash at about 1:35 p.m. on September 25. A scene was found on S.R. 2 east of C.R. 900 West.

One witness told investigators a Kia was driving behind a FedEx truck before driving over the center line. The car reportedly crashed into a Ford vehicle. The driver of the Ford, 36-year-old Kayla Roche, died from her injuries.

The driver and a passenger in the Kia were taken to the hospital.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing.
