UPDATE THREE: Constantine officials announced Wednesday afternoon that the boil water order has been lifted and required water quality testing has been completed as of Wednesday afternoon.

Residents and businesses may resume normal use of Village water.

UPDATE TWO: Village officials say both the gas line and water main have been repaired.

Officials say the water usage may resume, but the boil water order remains in effect until further notice. Do not drink the water without boiling it first. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using,

Officials say the first round of water samples is being completed at locations throughout the village as part of the required water quality testing.

A second round must be collected 24 hours later.

Officials say If all required samples return clear results, the earliest the boil water order could be lifted would be late Wednesday afternoon.

UPDATE: Village officials are advising the public to stay away from the area of 1020 S. Washington St., the site of the ongoing water main repair, due to a gas line being ruptured just before 10 a.m., Monday.

Emergency services arrived on scene, and due to the rupture, the anticipated completion time for the water main repair has been extended.

ORIGINAL STORY: CONSTANINE, Mich. A ten-inch water main break at 1020 South Washington will lead to a boil water advisory to start after construction, set to happen at 8:30 a.m.

The village water system will be down for two and a half hours. The boil advisory will be in effect once the main is fixed and the service is restored.

Do not drink the water without boiling it first. Boiled or bottled water should be used for consumption and washing dishes until further notice.
