MISSOURI — Floodgates will be re-installed along the Mississippi River in Missouri as a nearby community braces for more flooding.
Clean up from last week's storm made it more difficult as a Memorial Day thunderstorm flooded several roads on Monday.
One motorist tried to cross a flooded roadway and got stranded.
"I learned my lesson, I'll never do this again," said Diane Hayes. "In fact, my husband took a picture with his cell phone and I'm going to tell my daughters don't ever go through high water. If you think you can make it through, don't attempt it."
Several roads were closed because of the flooding.
At one point, more than 5,000 customers were without power.
