BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Michigan Southwest Enforcement Team is attempting to curb the flow of drugs that is keeping overdoses steady.
The new threat of counterfeit prescription drugs that is Narcan resistant is preventing overdoses from dropping.
At the same time there has been an increase in meth related crimes, which has the enforcement team busy.
Cass County Prosecutor Victor Fitz says the increase of meth is due to the crisis at the border.
Richard Pazder is the commander of S.W.E.T., and has this message:
"If you're a drug dealer, that's, pushing these lethal substances into our communities, lowering the quality of life for people causing death. I want you to know that we are the Southwest Enforcement Team. We have a stable full of detectives. If you kill somebody, we are coming for you, and we are going to make sure that you see some prison time for it."
