Noble County Coroner reveals cause of death for Wolcottville mom and daughters

WOLCOTTVILLE, Ind. -- Noble County Coroner Lisa Strebig has released the causes and manners of death for a mother and her three daughters, who were found dead inside their home in September 2024.

The cause of death for 8-year-old Evelyn Newell, 6-year-old Allison Newell, and 5-year-old Amelia Newell was deemed as inert gas asphyxiation, while the manner was deemed homicide, according to the coroner's report.

The report states 32-year-old Rebecca Hughes' cause of death was inert gas asphyxiation, while the manner was deemed suicide.
