UPDATE: The Elkhart Homicide Unit is still investigating after a body was recovered from the St. Joseph River.
The deceased male victim was identified as 50-year-old Anthony Null.
Anyone with information regarding the investigation can call the Elkhart Homicide Unit at 574-295-2825.
ORIGINAL STORY: ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Police Department reports a body was found in the river near the 300 block of E. Beardsley Avenue Thursday afternoon.
Police say the body of an adult male was located around 1:10 p.m. and that they are on scene investigating.
The Elkhart Fire Department assisted in retrieving and removing the deceased from the river.
The Elkhart County Homicide Unit was activated, per protocol.
