CHIKAMING TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- The Chikaming Township Police Department reports officers responded to a single-vehicle crash on westbound I-94 near mile-marker 8 around 1:06 a.m. Monday.

Upon arrival, an officer found the vehicle had left the north side of the roadway and come to a stop near a group of trees.

Police say the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not released any information on the driver or their condition.

The passenger's identity is being withheld pending family notification.

The crash remains under investigation.
