Elkhart firefighter fights for his life after SUV accident

An Elkhart firefighter is fighting for his life after an accident in South Bend!
Police say an SUV hit 51-year-old Vito Palumbo Thursday at the corner of Navarre and Michigan Streets. That's right outside Memorial Hospital.
He is listed in critical condition with severe head injuries.
Police say the driver of the SUV is a 53-year-old Niles woman.
They are asking anyone who saw the accident to come forward so they can get a better idea of what happened.
