ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Police Department reports around 11:20 a.m., Tuesday, their Warrants Team saw 32-year-old Kyre Young at a home in the 900 block of Dayton Street in South Bend.

Authorities say Young had a bench warrant for his arrest on a probation violation regarding an existing case.

He was wanted for Possession of a Handgun without a License and Possession of Marijuana.

The report states when officers were not granted entry to the house, they applied for a search warrant which was granted shortly after.

Police say they contacted the staff at the nearby St. Matt’s School to let them know what was happening, and suggested the kids stay inside.

The report states that within minutes Young was arrested inside the home without incident.

He was then taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.
