Elkhart County Sheriff's Office hosts four-day self-defense class for kids

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind.  -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office is hosting a four-day self-defense class for kids ages five to 12, starting today, June 17, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Beulah Missionary Church.

The class will also happen on the evenings of June 18, 19, and 20.

This free class is open to boys and girls.

Detective Norma L. Adler will have a team to teach the basics of self-defense.

Authorities will also provide instructional time on topics kids are facing today, like bullying, social media, gun safety, and stranger safety.

There will also be a Child and Parent Services (CAPS) speaker.

At least one parent will need to be with their child or children the entire time the children are in class.

Beulah Missionary Church is located at 57595 Old County Rd. 17 in Goshen.
