Elkhart Central High School on lockdown

Elkhart Central High School is on lockdown Wednesday because of social media threats discovered on Tuesday, according to Elkhart Police.

On Tuesday, Elkhart Police said they had learned of threats, posted on social media, to cause harm at the high school.

The school was searched on Tuesday and no threats were located, police said.

They put in place extra precautions to ensure the safety of all students.

ABC57 learned on Wednesday the school was on lockdown. Elkhart Police said it was due to the threats received over social media.
