SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Symphony played songs by African American composers tonight. For the 14th annual Celebration for a King, honoring Martin Luther King Jr. A band and choir singing gospel songs together.
Guests were invited to watch the trailer for a documentary about Rosmary Sanders, the first African American to play in the South Bend Symphony back in 1940.
Commemorative events will be happening all weekend long and through Monday on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
