ABC 57

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to the 1700 block of C.R. 8 for a two-vehicle crash around 8:55 a.m. Wednesday.

The report states a 1984 Honda GL2, driven by 79-year-old Melvin Miller of Middlebury, and a 2023 GMC Savana, driven by a 63-year-old Elkhart man, were both traveling northwest on C.R. 8.

Authorities say Miller attempted to turn into a driveway on the south side of C.R. 8.

Miller told authorities he believed the GMC was pulling off the roadway and passed it unsafely.

Miller then struck the driver's side door of the GMC.

He was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of his injuries and cited for Unsafe Lane Movement.

The 63-year-old driver suffered a cut on his arm.
