Driver cited in two-vehicle crash, teen passenger injured

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports on Thursday, June 27, around 4:22 p.m., deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash near S.R. 15 and C.R. 40 in Goshen.

The report states a 2013 Subaru Impreza, driven by 27-year-old Osvaldo Rodriguez of Warsaw, was driving south on S.R. 15 behind a 2017 Chevy Malibu, driven by 38-year-old Barbara S Mast of Goshen, approaching the intersection of C.R. 40.

Mast then slowed down and attempted to turn left to go east on C.R. 40.

Authorities say Rodriguez was following too closely and crashed into Mast's rear-end.

The Subaru sustained heavy front-end damage, while the Chevy sustained heavy rear-end damage.

Rodriguez was taken to Goshen General Hospital for a left arm and wrist injury.

Deputies cited Rodriguez for following too closely-bodily injury.

Mast and her 14-year-old front seat passenger were taken to Goshen General Hospital for complaints of neck, shoulder, and knee pain.
