Car stops abruptly, motorcyclist injured in Elkhart County
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports on Thursday, around 6:38 p.m., deputies responded to the intersection of C.R. 3 and C.R. 26 in Elkhart.
The report states 36-year-old Dakota Young, of Elkhart, was riding his motorcycle north on C.R. 3 just south of C.R. 26.
Young told deputies he observed a blue car stopped at the intersection of C.R. 26 facing east.
Young then observed the car continue through the intersection, but as he was approaching car stopped abruptly.
The report states Young avoided a collision but was ejected from his motorcycle as he was swerving away and braking hard.
Young was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
Young was then taken to Elkhart General Hospital for complaints of pain in his right collarbone.
