ABC 57

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to C.R. 28 west of C.R. 101 around 2 a.m., Nov. 28.

The report states a 2004 Toyota RAV4 SUV, driven by a 21-year-old Jonathan Cripe of Elkhart, was traveling east on C.R. 28 west of C.R. 101, when it left the south side of the road, struck a mailbox, two trees, and went airborne over the roadway.

It then landed on its passenger side on the north side of the roadway, continued to roll, and came to a rest on its wheels.

Cripe was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for a laceration to his face, chest pains, and all over body pains.

Deputies believe alcohol to be a factor in this crash.
