Woman charged with Arson after allegedly harassing homeowners

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Court documents from St. Joseph County reveal 50-year-old Hana Mommohaad Musleh has been charged with Arson, a Level 4 Felony, and Invasion of Privacy, a Class A Misdemeanor, following an incident on Sept. 14.
The St. Joseph County Police Department reports officers, along with firefighters, responded to a house fire on Mercury Drive on Sept. 14.
Once the fire was put out, investigators determined the fire was intentionally started with the use of an accelerant. The determination came with additional info from the homeowners, a couple who weren't home at the time.
Officers said they were familiar with the home due to previous calls for the suspect, Musleh, a relative of the homeowners.
Musleh had allegedly been harassing the homeowners in a variety of ways, including setting their car on fire, for which the homeowners chose not to press charges.
A neighbor told police they heard a boom and looked out to see a woman get into a silver sedan and drive away. The neighbor also provided authorities with security footage of the incident.
Another relative identified the sedan as Musleh's husband's car.
A firefighter found a cell phone lying in the driveway, and when officers called the number they had for Musleh, the found phone began ringing and displaying the officers' number.
Police suspected, based on facts and circumstances, that the suspect may have suffered injuries. Medics were sent to perform a welfare check on Musleh at her residence in Mishawaka.
She was found to have second-degree burns to her feet, which she said were from the shower.
Musleh declined to make a statement at that time. Prior court documents show Musleh previously stated she wanted to burn down the homeowners' residence.
According to court records, one of the homeowners, petitioned for and was granted an ex parte Protection Order against Musleh on April 9.
The order was made permanent after a hearing on May 8, at which Musleh was present. The order remains in effect and orders Musleh to stay away from homeowner's residence.
