Severe weather unlikely today, but not impossible
Scattered thunderstorms invade Michiana from the southwest through parts of today. A few isolated severe thunderstorms are possible this morning, especially in Fulton and Kosciusko Counties until 8-9 AM EST. After a quiet middle of the day with partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 50s, more scattered thunderstorms develop in the late afternoon and early evening with a low end severe risk lasting from about 4 PM until midnight tonight. The main concern are gusty winds and small hail within these thunderstorms, although strong thunderstorms are more likely than severe storms. The rain changes over to a rain/snow mix early Friday for a brief time before dissipating. The rest of Friday is windy and mostly cloudy with highs in the low 40s. Light snow is likely from Saturday night through Sunday as a cooldown into the 20s and 30s awaits our area.
Today: Scattered thunderstorms. High 58.
Tonight: Rain early. Low 36.
Friday: Mostly cloudy. High 42.
Saturday: Overcast. High 36.
