Pancakes help raise funds to support the Alzheimer's Association

NILES, Mich. -- Brentwood Niles Senior Living Facility held a community Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser Sunday to raise money for the Walk to End Alzheimer's.

The event started at 9 a.m. where community members could pay a $10 entry for all you can eat pancakes.

"I've always been a fan of Pancake Breakfast, and we are partnering and doing a lot of fundraising for the Alzheimer's Association, and I thought this would be a great way to raise funds for them," said Josh Sitarz, Director of Sales and Marketing at Brentwood in Niles. "I experienced dementia and Alzheimer's with my grandfather, with my parents, with other people in my family and just trying to raise awareness for it and raise funds because it is a very terrible disease."

The event was a partnership between Brentwood and the Southwestern Michigan Community Ambulance Service (SMCAS).

SMCAS is a non-profit, municipally owned and operated advanced life support ambulance service, serving the residents and visitors of the greater Niles and Buchanan area in Southwest Michigan.

100% of the proceeds are going to the cause and Brentwood is planning on expanding their event list for this summer.
