Elkhart men sentenced to prison for cocaine distribution, firearm offenses
St. Joseph County Jail: Derrick Glass, Shawn Pettis SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Two Elkhart men will each spend over a decade in prison after pleading guilty to various cocaine and firearm charges, according to the United States Attorney’s Office Northern District of Indiana.
On Thursday, 40-year-old Derrick Glass pled guilty to Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine and Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime.
Glass was sentenced to 10 years and 10 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release.
Thirty-five-year-old Shawn Pettis pled guilty to Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine and Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime.
Pettis will also spend 10 years and 10 months in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release.
Court documents reveal Glass distributed firearms, ketamine, and cocaine to another person in February and March of 2025.
Authorities say during that time, Pettis assisted Glass with distribution and stored cocaine and firearms at his home.
Police also found more cocaine and firearms when they executed a search warrant at Pettis’ home in March 2025.
