Video shows teacher slap student at Jimtown High School

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- An attorney representing Baugo Community Schools released a video showing a Jimtown teacher slapping a student in the hallway.

The video shows teacher Mike Hosinski confronting the student, then grabbing the student by his backpack. He then struck the student in the face, the video showed.

The student fell to the ground and was helped by another adult.

A letter from the school district said Hosinski confronted the student about what they were wearing.

Some members of the community are upset by Hosinski opting for early retirement. Students organized a walkout to show their support and parents are planning to attend a school board meeting to protest the decision.
