VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to several weather-related crashes throughout the day and evening of Nov. 29, including a vehicle rollover into a ravine.
Deputies responded around 10 a.m., Friday, on I-94 near C.R. 687 for a car rolling over into a water-filled ravine in the median.
The report states the driver of the Chrysler 300 lost control, gone into the median, and crashed through the guardrail down into the ravine, landing upside down.
Authorities say a responding deputy along with bystanders helped pull the driver up 10 feet from the ravine using a rope.
The driver was evaluated by paramedics and released without injuries.
Van Buren County Sheriff Daniel E. Abbott stated the majority of the crashes were caused by drivers traveling too fast for conditions. Abbott reminds the public to slow down on ice and snow-covered roadways.
