Valparaiso Turkey Trot happening 8 a.m. Thanksgiving Day

VALPARAISO, Ind. -- The Porter-Starke Services Foundation announced on Monday that it will be hosting the 2024 Valparaiso Turkey Trot beginning at 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning at Valparaiso High School.

"Over 3,000 people have already registered to participate in this Thanksgiving Day 5K, the largest of its kind in Northwest Indiana," organizers said. "Proceeds from the event support the behavioral and physical healthcare services provided by Porter-Starke Services."

Tentative schedule of events:

• 7 a.m. Participants Arrive
• 7:45 a.m. Roads Close
• 8 a.m. 5K Walk/Run Begins
• 8:15 a.m. First Runners Cross Finish Line
• 9 a.m. Awards Ceremony (weather permitting)

Valparaiso High School is located at 2727 N. Campbell Street.
