Two people injured after fiery two-vehicle crash in LaGrange Township
CASS COUNTY, Mich. - The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports on Thursday, May 23, around 11:13 p.m., deputies were called to investigate a two-vehicle crash at Pokagon Highway and Dailey Road in LaGrange Township.
Authorities' Investigation shows a vehicle was traveling north on Dailey Road and failed to yield to oncoming traffic on Pokagon Highway.
The report states a second vehicle was traveling east on Pokagon Highway and crashed into the northbound vehicle.
The two vehicles then left the roadway on the southeast side of Pokagon Highway and crashed into a utility pole.
The report goes on to state an active power line covered the northbound vehicle and caused it to catch fire.
The two northbound vehicle occupants were able to escape from the vehicle and deputies began life saving measures until medical personnel arrived.
The driver was taken to Borgess Lee before being flown to University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.
The passenger was taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital.
The eastbound vehicle occupants did not suffer any serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
