Three-vehicle crash leaves one injured
CASS COUNTY, Ind.-- Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports on July 29 around 4 p.m., deputies responded to a three-vehicle crash on Union Road and Mason Street in Cass County.
The investigation shows that a vehicle driven by a man from Elkhart was traveling west on Mason Street when he failed to stop at the stop sign at Union Road and Mason Street.
He crashed into 60-year-old Paul Zinich, of Elkhart, who was traveling south on Union Road. Zinich's vehicle then struck another vehicle stopped at the stop sign on the west side of Mason Street.
That vehicle was driven by 52-year-old Bill Scarberry, of Jones, Mich.
Zinich and Scarberry were treated and released from the scene.
The other driver was transported by ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital for his injuries. It is unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
All occupants were wearing a seatbelt at the time of crash.
This crash remains under investigation.
