Three arrested on drug charges following search warrant execution in Starke County
STARKE COUNTY, Ind. -- The Starke County Sheriff's Office reports deputies investigated a Crime Stoppers tip at a home in the 11100-east block of Division Road around 5:32 p.m., Tuesday.
The tip reported that 33-year-old Mathew Dean, of North Liberty, was at the residence in the area and had active warrants through St. Joseph County.
The report states deputies were allowed to enter the home by one of the residents.
Authorities say they then saw suspected methamphetamine in plain view.
Deputies then located Dean and took him into custody, after which authorities obtained a search warrant.
Deputies executed the search warrant for illegal narcotics and located suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, marijuana, and other paraphernalia, according to the report.
Along with Dean, 38-year-old Derrick Little of Knox and 34-year-old Sharlotte Preston of Plymouth were taken into custody and lodged at the Starke County Justice Center.
All three suspects have been preliminarily charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 6 Felony, Possession of a Narcotic Drug, a Level 6 Felony, Visiting a Common Nuisance, a B Misdemeanor, Possession of Marijuana, a B Misdemeanor, and Possession of Paraphernalia, a C Misdemeanor.
