Monger Elementary suffers water line break and will temporarily relocate

ABC 57

ELKHART, Ind. -- Due to a water line break that occurred overnight on Thursday, Monger Elementary sustained significant water damage throughout the building.

District staff are working closely with facilities teams and a contracted service provider to assess the extent of the damage and begin cleanup and restoration work.

To maintain continuity of instruction, students participated in a synchronous eLearning day today, May 1. Synchronous eLearning will continue on Monday, May 4 and Tuesday, May 5 to allow time for teachers to properly prepare for temporary relocation and classroom instruction at Bristol Elementary.

Beginning Wednesday, May 6, Monger students and staff will temporarily relocate to Bristol Elementary while restoration work is completed. All students will be provided transportation and will be bused to and from Bristol Elementary each day. Additional transportation details will be shared with families early next week.

The school district will continue to prioritize the safety of students and staff and will provide updates as additional information becomes available
