The HUB's program offers assistance to families in need of groceries

BRISTOL, Ind. -- Families in need near Bristol are getting extra help thanks to a simple program through Hearts United for Bristol, also known as The HUB.

Food Pantry Director at The HUB Sarah Burton says with Bristol on the county line, it's overlooked.

Now, with this program in place for the past year and a half, she’s hopeful it can start making a real difference for families in need.

The HUB’s Adopt-A-Family program offers two options: $10 helps for dairy staples like milk, butter and eggs, while $25 covers essential toiletry items from laundry detergent to toothpaste and hygiene products.

Donating is simple, monthly subscriptions or one-time gifts can be made online or by check.

The HUB connects people who are struggling, offering support and guidance toward a better, fulfilling life, while also sharing additional resources across Washington Township.

In just three years, The HUB has grown from serving 70 families a year to more than 200, offering financial aid, referral services and eventually a teen center.

"One of the things that I love about the Adopt a Family Program is that it's really easy. $10 is really the cost of a Starbucks drink nowadays. So, if you can sacrifice just one drink, think about how much you're impacting the lives of one family, think about the amount of impact you're having on one child," Burton said.
