STURGIS, Mich. -- The United States Attorney’s Office Western District of Michigan announced that 47-year-old Erik Miller of Sturgis has been sentenced to five years and 10 months in prison for conspiracy to distribute and possession with the intent to distribute controlled substances, including methamphetamine, MDMA, and Xanax.

Court documents reveal that Miller previously pleaded guilty to distributing pills and other drugs on the dark web.

Documents state in 2022, Miller began working with a dark web vendor to distribute fake Xanax pills, and illegal controlled substances, like methamphetamine and MDMA.

Miller also distributed real prescription drugs without customers providing a prescription.

Throughout his participation in the conspiracy, documents state Miller received packages containing thousands of Xanax pills and other drugs on a regular basis.

Miller then used those to fulfill customer orders.

According to court documents, on April 14, 2023, Miller’s involvement in the scheme led investigators to conduct search warrants at his home and an associated property.

Inside the properties, authorities say they found Miller had stored controlled and non-controlled substances, including MDMA, methamphetamine, cocaine, LSD, and counterfeit Xanax.

Authorities say they discovered other hallmarks of a drug trafficking operation as well.

Miller also owned three firearms, even though he's prohibited from doing so.
