South Bend gears up for this years Polar Plunge Fundraiser
SOUTH BEND, Ind - - Next Saturday, February 22, Four Winds Field in South Bend is inviting the community to come out to "Be Bold, Get Cold" according to the Polar Plunge event page in order to meet their goal of $60,000 fundraised for Indiana Special Olympics.
The annual fundraiser will feature individuals and teams alike from across the community who have raised a minimum of $99 to take the plunge into an icy pool in order to demonstrate their commitment and show their support towards for this awesome cause. All proceeds will go directly towards supporting "more than 19,000 Special Olympics athletes throughout the state." according to the Polar Plunge event page.
In person registration for this event kicks off at 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the First Source Bank Performance Center while online registration is open now on the events web page linked below. Participates can sign up as an individual or join a team of their choosing.
The plunge itself will then take place starting right at noon at Four Winds Field. Afterwards an "After Splash Bash" party will start at 1 p.m. again at the First Source Bank Performance Center.
