How rain is hampering planting progress
SOUTH BEND, Ind.-- Today 160 plungers will be taking on the frigid temperatures both outside and in a freezing pool of water to help raise money and show support for the Special Olympics of Indiana.
This is the 4th annual Polar Plunge held at Four Winds Field with the South Bend Cubs.
The plunging pool is set up on the splash pad near first base in the stadium.
Last year, the chapter raised almost $22,000 dollars and have upped their game this year with a goal of $24,000.

You can make donations all day long online or in person at the event.
Participants are asked to raise a minimum of $75 and can then take the plunge, get a commemorative t-shirt and spend time with the Special Olympics local chapter.
Registration begins at 10 a.m. with the Plunge beginning around noon, followed by an after Splash Bash once all of the participants have made the jump.
There will be refreshments and snacks available after the event.
Guests are welcome to come throughout the morning to watch and take part in supporting cause.
