ABC 57

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to the intersection of S.R. 13 and C.R. 10 around 4:23 a.m., Monday, for a two-vehicle crash.

The crash report states a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by 35-year-old Lewis Gravelle of Constantine, was traveling south on S.R. 13, south of the C.R. 10 intersection.

Authorities say that's when Gravelle lost control on the ice and crashed into another vehicle traveling north at the crest of a hill.

While Gravelle's Ram was stopped in the road, a 2021 Kia Stinger, driven by a 32-year-old Goshen man, also traveling north then struck Gravelle's truck on its rear passenger side.

The Stinger's passenger, a 37-year-old man, was taken to Elkhart Hospital for complaints of chest pain.

Gravelle was cited for Driving at Speeds too Fast for Weather Conditions and No Valid Operator's License.
