Severe weather expected tonight and early tomorrow morning

Generally cloudy but otherwise quiet conditions characterize the first half of our Tuesday across Michiana. Temperatures warm to the 70F degree mark once again ahead of expected severe weather this evening and overnight.

From 6 PM EDT tonight to 7 AM EDT tomorrow, periodic severe weather is expected with all threats on the table. The main concern with the early window of storms (6 PM - 1 AM) is the favorable environment they likely develop in which is suitable for large hail and possibly tornadoes. The second window of storms (~1 AM - 7 AM EDT) become more linear, meaning damaging straight-line winds and heavy rain are the biggest worries. Have multiple ways to receive alerts overnight and make sure to charge all devices necessary in the case of power outages.

Heavy rain continues through the first half of tomorrow before clearing out in the afternoon with a big cooldown on the way the rest of this week.

Today: Mostly cloudy. High 70.

Tonight: Scattered thunderstorms. Low 54.

Wednesday: Rain. High 56.

Thursday: Mostly sunny. High 44.
