One injured in crash after driver fails to stop at stop sign
CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports on Tuesday, around 6:07 p.m., a two- vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Decatur Road and Marcellus Highway in Volinia Township.
Deputies' investigation indicates 43-year-old Jocylyn Ann Vanfleeren, of South Bend, Ind., was travelling in a vehicle heading north on Decatur Road and failed to stop at the stop sign at Marcellus Highway.
Vanfleeren was then struck by a vehicle, driven by 57-year-old Charles Jason Beard of Three Rivers, travelling west on Marcellus Highway.
Beard was taken to Borgess Lee Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
No citations were given, according to the report.
Authorities say the crash remains under investigation.
