Community says farewell to Jaworski’s Market
SAINT JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. -- UPDATE: The Berrien County Sheriff's Office reports an autopsy was performed on the drowning victim, now identified as 69-year-old Douglas Charles Greyerbiehl, of St. Joseph Township, on Thursday at Western Michigan University.
Authorities say every indication is that of a drowning and no foul play is suspected currently.
The incident remains under investigation pending the final autopsy report.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Saint Joseph Department of Public Safety first heard reports of a body in the waters of Lake Michigan at Silver Beach at around 4 p.m. Sept. 18.
ABC57 NightTeam has been told it was a 69-year-old Saint Joseph Township Resident, but police are waiting to identify the person by name until the family has been told.
There will be an autopsy, but investigators do not suspect a crime at this time.
