Multiple railroad crossings to close in Goshen for rail replacement

GOSHEN, Ind. -- The City of Goshen announced multiple Norfolk Southern railroad crossings will close starting the week of Monday, July 8.

Norfolk Southern plans to close several crossings to install new rails.

The work expected to begin on Tuesday, July 9, or Wednesday, July 10, and expected to last until Wednesday, July 31.

The work will go from north to south, starting with the Lusher Avenue crossing in Elkhart.

Each crossing is expected to be closed for one to four days, and rail crews are expected to complete two to four miles a day.

Goshen officials will continue to provide updates on closures via the city’s website and social media.

  • Peddlers Village Road / C.R. 28
  • Greene Road
  • Purl Street
  • Reynolds Street
  • Plymouth Avenue
  • Jackson Street
  • Burdick Street
  • New York Street
