ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. - The city of Elkhart is hosting a Moderna mass vaccination clinic on Saturday at Elkhart High School.
Organizers say the Elkhart city health department will administer 1,000 first dose vaccine shots to those who choose to participate in the clinic.
"We hope that over a thousand people will take advantage of the that and will come back for their second dose." City of Elkhart Director of Communications Corinne Straight-Reed said.
Since the Moderna is a two-dose vaccination, participants will be able schedule for their second dose appointment immediately after receiving their first dose.
It's just one of the ways the city is trying to make things a little easier to speed up vaccination efforts here in Elkhart county, which is seeing another spike in cases. Much like the rest of northern Indiana.
Walks-ins are welcome but those hoping to participate in the clinic can also register by visiting outshot.in.gov or by calling 211. If you are participating in the Moderna vaccination clinic, please remember to bring your I.D.
