Rain develops late tonight into Monday
ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast
Sunday, November 24, 2024
A warm front lifts in tonight which will cause clouds to increase and moisture as well. Therefore, scattered showers will break out across Michiana around 3a tonight and last into the mid-morning hours on Monday. Temperatures will stay mild overnight in the mid 40s, with highs on Monday in the low 50s. Much of the midday period looks dry and cloudy on Monday, but more showers with a cold front swing in around 5p. This cold front drops temperatures into the 30s on Tuesday, but some clearing is possible of the cloud deck. A system tries to get going on Wednesday and Thanksgiving but looks to be mostly moisture starved and further south, so a wintry mix is possible during that time but no heavy precipitation is expected as of now. Travel impacts look low in Michiana, but they could be greater to our south. What is guaranteed is the colder air to follow this system, which will cause light lake effect snow to form Thursday night into Black Friday. More rounds of cold air persist into the first week or more of December which will bring multiple rounds of snow depending on wind direction. December likely starts off very wintry across the Great Lakes.
Tonight: Rain showers late/cloudy. Low 44.
Monday: Rain showers/cloudy. High 53.
Tuesday: Partly cloudy. High 38.
Wednesday: Light wintry mix/cloudy. High 40.
