ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- One local event on September 11th is a 21 mile walk to honor the victims, survivors and heroes of that day and beyond. ABC57's Brian Conybeare spoke with Bob Lyons, who started the March to the Memorial.
Lyons said one of the goals of the march is to bring the community together.
"At the end of the walk every year I always tell people OK let’s go forward and try to live like it’s September 12 again, like we’re all one, because I am not the biggest fan of the division at all. We do our part to try and squash that," Lyons said.
The free, non-partisan, non-political march will stop at South Bend fire stations along the way until they arrive at St. Patrick’s Park and the St. Joseph County 9/11 memorial.
