Lane restrictions during rescheduled St. Joseph County bridge inspections

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Department of Infrastructure announced there will be lane restrictions at Ash Road Bridge and Twyckenham Bridge starting week of Monday, July 29.

Officials say due to equipment failures during recent bridge inspections, these two bridges were rescheduled.

The inspections require the use of a large "SNOOPER" truck which officials say can boom outward with inspectors in the bucket and access the underside of the bridge for a detailed inspection.

Ash Road Bridge's southbound shoulder will be closed from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, July 29.

The northbound shoulder will be closed from 1 to 5 p.m. on Monday, July 29, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Tuesday July 30.

Twyckenham Bridge's southbound left turn lane at Lincolnway will be closed from 8 a.m. to around noon on Monday, July 29, during which the sidewalk along the west side of the bridge will be closed to pedestrian traffic.
