Lack of traction causes two-vehicle crash in Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office was called to the scene of a two-vehicle crash on C.R. 48 on Tuesday morning. 

The report states that a 2016 Chevrolet Trax was heading east on C.R. 48, just east of C.R. 143, around 6:31 a.m. on Jan. 14 when the vehicle lost traction and collided with an oncoming 2021 Honda Accord that was traveling west. 

The driver of the Trax was a 30-year-old female from Middlebury who suffered a broken collar bone and possible foot injury. She was taken to Fort Wayne Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Accord was 27-year-old man from Ligonier. He was transported to Goshen General Hospital for treatment of a broken wrist, abdominal, and foot pain. 

Neither driver was cited in the crash.
