INDIANA -- Indiana Task Force One is deploying a 50-person team to help out in Florida as Hurricane Ian hits the sunshine state.
The team was activated and deployed near Montgomery, Alabama at 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
Those deployed included 45 team members and 6 support personnel according to a tweet from Indiana Task Force One. The task force is ready to help in Technical, Medical and rescue operations.
“as Hoosiers to go over and help whatever state we’re going to help those individuals. Just a prayer and support for those individuals back here and for our families, as well," Said Task Force Leader for Indiana Task Force One, Gerald George.
There is no timetable on how long the team will be assisting, but recruits are prepared to stay for 10 to 14 days.
The Indiana National Guard is now mobilizing more than a dozen soldiers, three flight crews, and two Black hawk Helicopters to assist agencies down in Florida.
