Indiana State Police seeks trooper recruits for 83rd Academy
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Indiana State Police has extended their deadline for State Trooper recruit applications.
The deadline is an electronic submission at their website by 11:59 p.m. by Wednesday, March 30.
Applicants must be United States citizens at least 21 years of age and less than 40 when appointed. They also must meet a vision standard, possess a valid driver’s license, and be a high school graduate or equivalent.
Starting July 1, Trooper Trainee salaries are upped to $47,000 with 200 hours of paid time off and $3,800 of paid overtime during their stay at the academy. Once graduated to Probationary Trooper, salaries increase further to $51,000.
Additionally, Probationary Troopers graduating from the 83rd Recruit Academy who have completed their Field Training Officer program will receive a $5,000 one-time cash bonus in addition to their salary.
