ELKHART, Ind. -- A sold out crowd joined Governor Eric Holcomb at the annual RV Industry Power Breakfast.
The breakfast was held at the RV/MH Hall of Fame and Museum in Elkhart.
Hundreds of people gathered to discuss the impact of the RV industry.
The 2008 recession hit the industry hard and despite a decrease in shipments, the RV Indiana Association reported that the market remains strong.
"It's a vibrant industry and we went through some a period of almost a little slower times but on the other hand we're still pacing on another record year. It's the fifth best year in the industry most likely with the RV buyers out there. The market is pretty strong," Derald Bontrager, CEO of Jayco RV said.
Hoosiers hold more than 40,000 jobs in the RV industry, totaling $2.5 billion in wages.
This adds to the total economic impact of about $9.5 billion.
