Hot today, storms tonight

Today is expected to be the hottest day of the heat wave, though heat index values should be similar to the rest of the week. Humidity is on the rise as we go through the afternoon, with gathering clouds and breezy conditions. Some isolated showers can't be ruled out. Tonight, a cold front is expected to move through, bringing some much needed relief from the heat and ran to our area. Storms are expected in this front, with the main threats being damaging winds, and some small hail.

Some spotty showers linger into Sunday morning, but clear out of the area by noon. Skies get clearer moving into the beginning of next week, with the next weathermaker expected Tuesday afternoon. Next week looks to still be warmer than average for this time of year, but slightly cooler than this week overall.
