Oliver Moster, Meteorologist
Oliver Moster joined the ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Team in June 2024. Graduating from Ball State University (Chirp Chirp!) with a degree in Meteorology and Cilmatology, this is his first position out of college. Oliver grew up in Batesville, Indiana, 40 minutes away from Cincinnati. He discovered a love of TV news while watching the local news growing up, and after a year in college, pivoted to weather when he realized he missed math. After taking differential equations and thermodynamics, he has scientifically deduced that his favorite season is fall, because he "has an autumnal complexion".
At Ball State, Oliver found himself in a number of groups around campus. He particated in the student-run news organization, eventually becoming the Assistant Chief Weather Forecaster, collegiate improv comedy and acapella, as well as working for the university as a campus tour guide. Oliver also participated in a storm chase trip right before he started working at ABC57, seeing a tornado for the first time in his life, and experiencing lightning 20 yards away. He has held internship positions in Alpena, Michigan, and Cincinnati throughout his college career.
Besides the weather, Oliver loves using a YouTube to mp3 converter for music, then using Excel to make his own version of Spotify Wrapped at the end of every year (it's easier than you think!), looking at Lego sets he will never buy, eating ice cream with a fork straight out of the carton, reviewing movies, a Little Ceasers Hot-N-Ready, his family and friends, and hitting big red buttons that say "Do Not Press". He thinks he is funny, but that's up for you to decide.
Oliver is ready to explore the Michiana region, and spend as much of his off time trying the pizza places in and around South Bend. You can connect with him on his Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and email.
