Georgia man accused of stealing vehicles in Michigan

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. – A Georgia man is in custody after allegedly stealing one vehicle and attempting to steal another, the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office reported.

On Thursday morning, deputies responded to a report of a motor vehicle theft in progress in the 61000 block of Klinger Lake Road.

One of the victims discovered his car being stolen just before 1 a.m. and followed the car, helping deputies locate and apprehend the subject.

After the subject was in custody, deputies discovered the subject had stolen another vehicle from Centreville and crashed it in the 61000 block of Klinger Lake Road.

The subject, a 24-year-old man from Georgia, is being held for two counts of unauthorized driving away of an automobile, possession of stolen motor vehicle, operating under the influence of drugs, driving with no license, and open intoxicants in a motor vehicle.
