ATLANTA, Ga. -- JD Bertrand, a former Notre Dame linebacker who now plays for the Atlanta Falcons, expressed his excitement about playing for his hometown team and shared his prediction for the upcoming game against Georgia Tech.
Bertrand also discussed his experience transitioning to the NFL and staying in touch with his former Notre Dame teammates.
" I think it's pretty full circle. I mean, it's really just an unbelievable opportunity to have my support system right around me, and to have my friends, family, just all the people that I'm so close with, to be here and be able to support me and come to my games and just make it easy for them," said Bertrand. "They used to travel to 10 to 12 hours up to South Bend, and now they're able to drive the 30 minutes down to the stadium."
Bertrand, a two-time captain for the Irish, has played in all but one game for the Falcons this season. He said it was weird playing for the Falcons for the first time instead of Notre Dame, but he's stayed in touch with his guys like linebacker Jack Kiser and some of the young guys.
JD and Khalid will be at tomorrow's game rooting on the Irish tomorrow.
