Driver sent to hospital and cited following two-vehicle crash

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to the intersection of C.R. 36 and C.R. 19 around 11 a.m. Tuesday for a two-vehicle crash.
The report states a 2018 Honda Civic, driven by 46-year-old Jason Showalter of Goshen, disregarded the stop sign at C.R. 36 and C.R. 12, and pulled out in front of a 2019 Nissan Sentra, driven by a 17-year-old Goshen boy.
The 17-year-old was traveling north on C.R. 19 approaching the intersection.
Showalter's vehicle was struck on the rear passenger's side.
Showalter was then taken to the hospital for complaints of pain in the abdominal area and his shoulder.
The 17-year-old had complaints of hand pain and was medically cleared on scene.
Showalter was cited for Disregarding a Stop Sign.
